You Did Everything You Were Supposed To Do. It Still Wasn’t Enough.
A Mom’s Guide to Survive is a trauma-informed and community-supported nonprofit supporting single moms in hard places, primarily in Colorado Springs, CO.
We focus on access, dignity, and practical support without judgment or extraction.
What We Do
We provide programs designed to reduce daily stress and support long-term stability for moms and their children.
This is not charity.
It’s access.
Our Programs
We believe moms are experts in their own lives and that systems should meet them with respect and real access.
The Essentials Room
Provides access to necessities that reduce daily friction and make life more manageable.
Resource Mapping
Offers one-on-one support to identify priorities, remove barriers, and build realistic paths forward.
How Support Works
Our programs are voluntary, confidential, and designed with trauma-informed care. Availability depends on community donations and capacity. Every mom is treated with dignity and respect.
Support is available whether you are parenting alone, navigating separation, or trying to find stability in an unsafe or uncertain situation.
Our Promise
Our work is guided by dignity, continuity, collaboration, and empowered decision-making.
Maternal Continuity
Children are safest when their primary caregiver is supported, not destabilized. We center maternal stability as a protective factor.
Protective Factors
We work to remove unnecessary barriers and translate complex systems into clear, usable support for moms navigating survival.
Building Community
Real safety is built through connection, shared knowledge, and mutual aid. Moms thrive when they are not left to do this alone.
Breaking Cycles
When moms are safe and supported, the next generation doesn’t carry the same weight. Access to help should feel human, not humiliating.
The Story Behind This Work
Before A Mom’s Guide to Survive existed, there was lived experience navigating motherhood, adversity, and systems that often punish instability instead of preventing it.
In this episode of the Her Audacity Podcast, our founder shares the context that made this work necessary and the principles that continue to guide AMGTS today.
